Music Quiz Evening

The Music Support Group at Callington Community College would like to
invite your group / organisation to take part in its tenth annual Music Quiz
in the Main Hall at the college on Saturday 21st April 2007.

Teams of between 4 and 6 people are invited, at a cost of £2.50 per person,
payable on the night. Nibbles (crisps etc.) will be provided, but teams
should provide their own drink (plastic cups will be available if required).

Doors will open at 7pm and the quiz will commence at 7:30pm. Questions will
cover music in its widest sense and many sound rounds will be included. The
quiz is scheduled to finish approximatedly 10:30pm

Foundation Status

Notice is hereby given in accordance with Paragraph 2 of Schedule 8 to the School Standards and Framework Act 1998 that the Governing Body of Callington Community College propose the college shall change category and have made the following proposals for that purpose:

● That with effect from 1st April 2007 the school will change category from Community to Foundation.

● The school will not have a Foundation or belong to a group of schools for which a foundation body acts.

● If the school changes its category to Foundation, the land will transfer to the Governing Body of Callington Community College.

Within four weeks after the date of publication of these proposals, any person may object to or make comments on the proposals by sending the representations to Mr P. Lee, Chair of Governors, Callington Community College, Launceston Road, Callington, Cornwall, PL17 7DR.

A Real Taste of Teaching

Experience first hand the creative, challenging role of a modern teacher and the rewards of engaging with students on a daily basis by enrolling on a 3 Day Taster Course to be held at Callington Community College.

The course is available to graduates or undergraduates considering taking any of the different routes into teaching, including flexible and employment-based routes. The aim is to assist people in making their career decision, which is right for them.

The subjects currently on offer at Callington Community College are:- Design and Technology, Geography, ICT, Mathematics, Music, RE, Science, Modern Foreign Languages

The beauty college

The Beauty College will be unleashing it self to the public on the 25 January offering beauty treatments at a small charge. Treatments will be available by appointment every Thursday there will be two sessions the first at 9.00am and the second at 10.30am. The treatments available at our Unisex Salon includes facials, lash, brow tinting and brow shaping, all treatments will be conducted professionally along with guidance and support. We use DERMALOGICA Unisex products; these products are also available at discounted prices to purchase, which are not available at these prices anywhere nearby.

The students have all been working very hard since September and are demonstrating some very strong skills. Your support would be very much appreciated, so please give them a call on 01579 386011 or e-mail at e-mail and book an appointment for that must have treatment.
