LEADING LIGHT IN LIBRARY

Sixth Form AVCE Art and Design students at Callington Community College worked on stained glass window production with Paul Sheppard as part of the coursework unit on Community Art. Paul Sheppard is employed by Duchy Plastics, Callington as their Stained Glass Window designer. The students involved were Nichola Martin, Haylee Doney, Katie Morgan and Paul Howard. Inspiration for the ideas for the window came from a questionnaire distributed to users of the Library and form work submitted by several Year 8 students, as well as the Sixth Form students who worked together to produce a final outcome combining dramatic composition and stunning light effects.

The stained glass window is now in situ in the Library and well worth viewing, especially on a bright sunny day. The Library would like this project to be continued on another two windows but sponsorship for these has to be found before design work can begin.
